Salvation: The most wonderful Plan

The main theme that we come across when reading the Word of God from start to end is the salvation of man. This theme is the most important and significant for the following reasons:

(1) It is significant because of the person who carried it out. The person who came to deliver man from eternal death was none other than the Son of God, Jesus Christ who became our Saviour . This enabled us to become justified before God. It is significant because Jesus offered himself as a living sacrifice by dying on the cross for our sins.

(2) It is significant because by accepting the salvation that is offered to us by the grace of God, we will escape the eternal destiny of all unbelievers, which is the “lake of fire.” “And anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire.” (Revelations 20:15). Only God’s elect, those whose names are written in the Book of Life, will escape this terrible fate. The rejection of the eternal gospel results in eternal condemnation.

(3) It is significant because of its scope. This salvation was not put in place for a selected few, but for every man, woman, for the rich and poor, for the big and small, for the powerful and weak, from Adam to the last man to be born on the earth.

(4) It is significant because of its duration. Salvation is not offered to us temporarily, but for eternity.

After the fall of man there were two options: either God would abandon man and let him suffer the repercussions of his sins which he undoubtedly deserved, or to provide an avenue for man to be saved and live eternally with his creator.

God, from the beginning, had already planned an avenue for salvation when He created man. The plan was for his Son, Jesus to come to earth, take on his shoulders the sins of mankind, die on the cross in order to enable our justification and reconciliation with God.

We were created to live eternally with God, our creator, and it is through this plan of salvation that we are able to do this, even though we don’t deserve to. It is a plan of salvation, which is extended to everyone through the Holy Bible from Genesis through to Revelation and especially in the New Testament. God paved the way for such a wonderful salvation to become available to mankind. For God to go to such an extreme, that is, by offering His Son as a living sacrifice worth it in the eyes of God.

Even if you feel unworthy, reach out and open up your heart to Jesus Christ and let this wonderful plan of salvation with all its blessings become a reality in your life.
