What do you ask for?

The Promises of God

Giving It All Away

There was once a monk traveling with a rich merchant to a distant land. The merchant noticed that the monk had in his possession a precious jewel. He asked the monk for the jewel, telling him that monks have no need for such things and the monk gladly handed it over. Who was richer? The merchant who now had more wealth, or the monk who had the rare and amazing ability to give it away?
