“(God) now commands all people everywhere to repent. For he has set a day when he will judge the world with justice by the man he has appointed.” (Acts 17:30-31).

“He commanded us to preach to the people and to testify that he is the one whom God appointed as judge of the living and the dead. All the prophets testify about him that everyone who believes in him receives forgiveness of sins through his name.” (Acts 10:42-43).

There is a volcanic mountain which is located in the town of St Peter on the Greek island of Martinikas. At the beginning of May 1902, you could discern the muffled rumblings which were coming from the depths of the volcano. Soon after these rumblings started echoing through the town as explosions started unexpectedly. Geologists came to examine the volcanic action and came to the educated conclusion that there was nothing to be afraid of.

On the morning of May 8th the sun rose brightly in the sky like any other ordinary morning. Suddenly a very powerful explosion came from the mountain on which the town was built. The inhabitants witnessed in total shock thick white clouds coming out of the crater, and soon after huge clouds of volcanic dust and smoke pouring down the mountain. In less than one minute, the whole town was destroyed. The only survivor was a man who had been imprisoned and was saved as a result of the thick walls of steel surrounding him.

The Bible declares very clearly that God’s judgment will come upon the whole of mankind the same was as which it fell on the inhabitants of St Peter; suddenly and unexpectedly. The Word of God contains clear warnings concerning God’s impending judgment, however most people remain unconcerned and ignorant. It is time to sit up and take notice. Time is running out. This judgment will fall on everyone who rejected the salvation offered through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Eternal condemnation will be yours to face if you do not open up your heart to God’s love.

“For we will all stand before God’s judgment seat. It is written: ‘As surely as I live,’ says the Lord, ‘every knee will bow before me; every tongue will confess to God.’ So then, each of us will give an account of himself to God.”
(Romans 14:10-12).

“For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive what is due him for the things done while in the body, whether good or bad.” (2 Corinthians 5:10).

“Just as man is destined to die once, and after that to face judgment, so Christ was sacrificed once to take away the sins of many people; and he will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who are waiting for him.” (Hebrews 9:27-28).

“And I saw the dead, great and small standing before the throne, and books were opened. Another book was opened, which is the book of life. The dead were judged according to what they had done as recorded in the books…. If anyone’s name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.” (Revelation 20:12, 15).

"And you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free."
