In Between Two

During the American civil war between the north and south a soldier who was uncertain as to where his loyalties lied decided to adopt a solution which he considered to be wise: Just before the battle began he dressed himself with the blue blazer (that of the north) and gray trousers (that of the south) and so went to join the battle.
What was the result? If this soldier thought that his solution was a wise one, he was greatly mistaken. He was attacked by the North and the South. Both armies considered him an enemy because he neither looked like a Northern soldier or a Southern soldier.
It is preferable to not commit your life to Jesus if you are going to do so half-heartedly.
Belonging half to the world and half to Jesus means that you belong entirely to the world, and that your life is governed by your sinful nature. You are doing yourself great injustice and harm, because Satan is targeting you more so since he is aware that you may choose to escape him, totaling committing your heart to Jesus.
This he does not want and will do anything in his power to prevent you from making that decision. However, neither do you have Jesus as your own as you may think because Jesus will not enter your heart on these terms. Ultimately, you life becomes a miserable existence, full of problems and lacking in peace. This occurs despite knowing that God loves you and wants you all to himself, because you refuse to give yourself totally to Jesus for the sake of some fleeting worldly pleasures.
A divided life is a life without Jesus. A divided heart is exposed to the ruthless attacks of Satan who is the enemy of our soul. Only when we give all of our heart to Jesus and decide to live our life for Him, will we be blessed and our life on this earth will become a paradise of happiness and peace.
“How long will you waver between two opinions? If the Lord is God, follow him; but if Baal is God, follow him.” (1 Kings 18:21)
