God’s Will is…

“God … will all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.” (I Timothy 2:3-4)

There really are people who will not come to Jesus Christ because they consider themselves unfit for heaven. They believe that God cannot forgive them or that He isn’t interested in them. This is erroneous thinking – praised be His name! However good or bad they may be, however they may have ruined their lives, God’s offer is available to all. He wants all; so there is hope for everyone. How different from us! We are quick to give people up; often we would rather never see them again.

When the Lord Jesus Christ was here on earth, He once said, “Come unto me all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will you rest” (Matthew 11:28). On another occasion we hear Him say, “Him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out” (John 6:37). What tremendous words these are!

Maybe you are fearful because you think you can never lead the Christian life. “God demands too much of me,” you say. No-one can lead a God-fearing life in his own strength. Any attempt to do so will prove a failure. And the wonderful thing is: God does not expect us to try it with our own efforts. He knows full well that we cannot. True Christian living is only possible in the power of the Holy Spirit, which God gives to every believer. All that is needed comes from God. He offers all His love in Jesus Christ. He gives us the strength to live as Christians. We simply have to accept His offer.
