Do you have peace with God?

“Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.” (Romans 5:1)

If man has not settled the issue of his sins, he cannot have peace with God. He may appear to be indifferent towards God’s love and be satisfied, however deep down in his heart he has no peace and continues to remain deeply troubled with regards to the issue of death and what happens once you die. Only Jesus Christ can grant him true and lasting peace with God through the blood that was shed on the cross for the sins of mankind. We read in Colossians 1:19-20: “For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him (Christ), and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross. ”

Sin, which had destroyed the wonderful relationship God had with man as we read in Genesis, had consequently destroyed the peace man had with God. However sin was condemned on the cross. Jesus paid with his blood the penalty of sin, he reconciled the sinner with God and brought peace into the life of the believer. The resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead enables our justification in the eyes of God through faith in Jesus Christ. Therefore the sinner who accepts the salvation that is graciously offered to him is justified and has peace with God. Do you have this peace? If not, your life is not worth living without it. Take this opportunity today to reconcile yourself with God through faith in God’s everlasting love for you.

“And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:7).

“So then, dear friends…. Make every effort to be found spotless, blameless and at peace with him.” (2 Peter 3:14).
